About Us

Two people. One sanctuary. Decades of practice.
The place
Oasis Within is a sanctuary for transformation, held by James and Lisa on 2.5 acres of sub tropical land in Newee Creek, NSW. We built it slowly, on the understanding that the kind of change most people are looking for asks for a different kind of space than ordinary life provides.
The work that happens here, coaching, couples work, retreats, weekly practice, flows from a single shared understanding: that clarity, presence and genuine connection are not produced by pressure or technique, but by a kind of returning. To the body. To the land. To what you already are underneath the noise.
James Brett — Coach | Facilitator | Clarity Catalyst | Gene Keys Guide
My work is built on a single insight: when you understand how your mind actually works, from the inside out, everything changes. Not as a belief or a technique. As a direct, lived recognition that shifts how you think, lead, decide and relate. This understanding leads to deeper, pervading presence and capacity to live life fully and to your fullest potential.
I came to this understanding through a combination of genuine inquiry and lived necessity. A significant health crisis, years navigating complex transitions in business and leadership, and a sustained commitment to my own evolution and performance. So I could learn what actually produces lasting change, rather than what merely manages it.
None of it makes me an authority on your life. What it does mean is that when we work together, what I'm bringing isn't a method, it's twenty plus years of practice meeting whatever your meeting now.
I work primarily with professionals, founders, and people who are at a turning point. Some of this work is hybrid, coaching alongside strategic consultancy for those navigating both an inner and structural transition.
My approach draws on the Quality of Mind understanding, which aligns to the deepest wisdom traditions, and how our presence determines our level of impact and contribution to the work. I weave the Conscious Loving work of the Hendricks Institute, Qi Gong and Nei Gong as my own embodied practice, and Gong Fu tea ceremony as a doorway to presence and stillness.
I don't rush or try to fix. I create space for the kind of clarity that was there all along. underneath the noise.
Lisa Crawford — Coach | Somatic Facilitator | Integrated Human Design & Gene Keys Guide
What I have discovered to be true is that the body is always ahead of our thinking. It has an inbuilt intelligence and most of us were never taught to listen to it. We were taught to push through, perform, and keep going and for a long time, that works. Until it doesn't. My work is to help you find your way back to that intelligence, so you can follow your own subtle guidance rather than someone else's.
I came to this after twenty years in corporate. Deadlines. Driving change initiatives. Solving problems. Streamlining. Pushing. I'm sure a part of me enjoyed the adrenaline. What I didn't notice was the body whispering, then shouting. From frustrations, to eventually an autoimmune condition putting me in hospital twice, let alone perimenopause, I finally paid attention.
What followed was a series of invitations I didn't have to think my way into. Something quieter than analysis was doing the deciding. Yoga across three continents. Conscious dance. Qi Gong with a Daoist master in China. The Hendricks Institute's Conscious Loving body of wisdom. Human Design and Gene Keys, which gave me a map not just of my own wiring but of why two people can stand in the same moment and live completely different experiences of it.
What I bring into our experience together is an understanding that the body is not just a place of settling into stillness, although that will happen. It is also where we can bring something forward fully enough to finally see it, to feel how we are holding a position, and in that visibility find the freedom to let it go. My work moves from the quietening that allows insight to land, to the activation that makes what was hidden impossible to ignore.
I work with women navigating significant transitions, including the upheaval of perimenopause and midlife, with professionals quietly asking whether the life they have built is actually the one they want, and with couples alongside James who are ready to find their way back to each other.
